478 - UNTITLED (REMEMBERING THE TREASON TRIAL)
of the great privileges of this year's exhibition is to have a room of drawings
by William Kentridge Hon RA. He's an important artist from South Africa, but
his work is not well-known here – though he will become far better-known.
They're both beautiful – striking – and also have very powerful political content. A combination of images of trees and text, made on printed pages. It's a room full of resonance, and he created the entire room of drawings specifically – he came here, saw the space and prepared the work to be shown."
